Like a magazine, we have a Table of Contents for the front and an Index at the back.  On the home pages, content are also presented in order of the dates posted.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Departments correspond to secondary content in magazines, Letters from the Publisher and the like.  The main content can be accessed three different ways: by geographical region; by time period; and by type of history.  Stuff that does not fit into any of these categories goes to the General section.

INDEX

Like an index at the back of a magazine or book, these help the readers drill down into the details of our site’s content.  Every time a country, a person, a place, an event, or a thing gets mentioned, it gets added to the Index.

ARCHIVES

While this page gives a duplicate list of categories, it gives more information besides.  The “Author” designation just means who it was who uploaded content onto the site.  For the actual authors, see the Our Authors page under the About menu.
