Lost Film of American Indians Found

From the latest happenings in things historical. This article Rare Film Is Glimpse Of A Distant America was published 8 days ago at National Public Radio (NPR). The article’s author is Linton Weeks.

The Daughter of Dawn was made in 1920. The reels were discovered and restored a few years ago. Recently it was made available for general distribution (finally!). Netflix has it. It is a fictional account of a love story. Historians are praising this film for its fidelity to historical accuracy. The actors were all natives using their authentic clothing and practices. History News Network calls it, a cinematic wormhole into America’s past.”
