Fabricating a Story

“If you think media manipulation is a recent development in the film industry, have I got a story for you.”  Thus Film Dirt blog begins this tale of a Dutch film in 1905 about a man who lost his pants while getting washed out to sea.


The Newspapers thought that the film was a true story and that resulted in sell-out box office and the film being named in 2007 as one of 16 cannonical Dutch films.

The film was actually a work of fiction.
