Spread of Slavery In the United States 1790 – 1860

Lincolnmullen.com produced this interactive map of the spread of slavery.  I notice that the Appalachian Mountain region did not have much slaves while the Mississippi River region had an abundance. Climate, topography, and human migrations had a lot to do with where it spread to and where it did not.

Don’t miss the drop box which allows different sets to be measured and mapped.
