The reconstruction, created with a 2,000-year-old Jewish skull, ancient documents, advanced software and forensic techniques, simply shows a 1st-century Jewish man who would have lived in the harsh conditions of the time.
Jesus probably looked a lot more like this image than the idealized images from the great painters of the past. Images of Jesus should continue to be produced but let’s encourage artists to be more realistic. This helps to remind us of the historical Jesus rather than a mythic figure.
