I’ve opened up comments so that you don’t have to register anymore. This will make things easier.
That was for our readers. The rest of this essay is for the internet marketer community.
I’ve noticed that during the months that this blog has transferred from Blogger to WordPress that there are a lot of bots that target blogs like this one. I sympathize with folks trying to make money online. I question the effectiveness of these bots. People who are spending money on this kind of thing may be just throwing it away.
These bots are not very intelligent. They keep targeting the same posts – post that are months old and buried in the archives. These bots don’t check if their attempts to comment are being blocked by me.
I have a very liberal policy on policing comments. Anything that can be remotely legitimate gets through. I want comments. I love comments. Please comment. I should be considered the ultimate pigeon for bots. So why can they not do the most elementary of things to pose as actual people? They don’t fool anyone, even me! In short, you’ve been spending your money on bots that are beyond dumb. They’ve reached stupid territory.
Internet marketers: try doing these elementary steps to fool me.
- Read or at least scan the blogs you’re bots are targeting.
- Send your bots to recent posts
- Write copy that has at least something to do with history.
- Stop blasting comments that are just sales pitches for a product.
You’re spending good money on these bots. You must not have too much money or else you wouldn’t be doing this to begin with. You are clearly just blasting comments out there and probably looking for blogs that are not being actively policed. But those blogs are probably not being read very much, either.
As I delete your comment, I feel sorry for you. I truly do. I don’t want to be tricked by your bots but I can’t help but sympathize with people with entreprenuerial drive. I hope that this helps you to reach your dreams and achieve your goals.
